Are you asking the question can you be evil in Hogwarts Legacy? This article will answer it for you and tell you everything you need to know about ways you can play the RPG. Can you be a tyrannical maniac?

The short answer is yes you can, but what exactly are the consequences of doing so? Will your choice from the Hogwarts Legacy houses disown you? Will you have to pay for your hideous actions? Below, you can find out what Avalanche have said about how being evil in Hogwarts Legacy will work based off our time with the game for our Hogwarts Legacy review.

Hogwarts Legacy can you be evil?

Hogwarts Legacy will let you be an evil witch or wizard and there won’t be consequences for doing so either.

Becoming an evil witch or wizard is done by using Unforgivable Curses which give the caster control over their victim, as revealed by Avalanche in a GamesRadar interview. These can be used to manipulate them, torment them, and kill them for good. Using these curses will cause some of the Hogwarts Legacy characters to react and flinch when they see them performed. However, there is no morality system so using them won’t affect the story or gameplay.

Thanks to the Hogwarts Legacy multiple save slots, you will be able to have one character play as an evil student and another be far more well-behaved and conscious of their choices. So, you don’t have to worry about being locked to a playthrough either as you can always start over.

So that covers if you can be evil in Hogwarts Legacy. For more on some of the Hogwarts Legacy spells you will cast during your evil run, be sure to keep an eye on our other guides as you make your way through the Hogwarts Legacy length.

Hogwarts Legacy has drawn considerable criticism during its development, largely due to the fact that the creator of the Harry Potter series, J.K. Rowling, has made a number of transphobic remarks on social media in recent years.

While Avalanche has confirmed that J.K. Rowling is not “directly involved” in the development of Hogwarts Legacy, it is working with “her team” and Portkey Games, a Warner Bros. label dedicated to launching new experiences inspired by J.K. Rowling’s original stories. It is currently unclear whether she will earn any royalties from the game’s sale, but it is likely given it is based on her original body of work.
