Early Life & Education
Bas was born on the 27th of May in 1987 to Sudanese parents in Paris, France.
When he was eight years old, his family relocated to New York City. In Queens, New York, he attended St. Francis Preparatory School.

Career
In 2011, at the beginning of Bas‘ career, he released his first mixtape, Quarter Water Raised Vol. 1. His second mixtape, Quarter Water Raised Vol. 2, was released in 2013.
In 2013, he appeared on two songs by J. Cole: New York Times featuring 50 Cent from Cole‘s Born Sinner album and Hells Kitchen featuring DJ Khaled from Suffering from Success.
Later, he appeared on the mixtape Revenge of the Dreamers, a Dreamville collection. Bas was signed to Interscope Records as a result of Dreamville’s collaboration with Interscope Records, commemorating that mixtape’s release. He offered a free EP called Two Weeks Notice two weeks before his debut album Last Winter was made available for purchase.
Bas performing in January 2014 as part of the What Dreams May Come Tour. On April 29, 2014, Dreamville Records and Interscope Records released the Last Winter album. The album was a conceptual undertaking that includes references to the chilly days in New York City where it was recorded.
The single My Nigga Just Made Bail, which was produced by GP808 and featured J. Cole as a guest, served as the album’s promotional vehicle. Three thousand six hundred copies of Last Winter were sold in its first week, propelling it to the 103rd position on the Billboard 200.
Bas embarked on an album-themed 10-city tour of the country after its release. He then embarked on a 24-city domestic and international tour with TDE rapper Ab-Soul following his Last Winter tour.
He assisted J. Cole on the song 2014 Forest in 2015. Bas was a part of J. Cole on the 2014 Forest Hills Drive Tour alongside Big Sean, YG, Omen, and Cozz.
How hard work led him to release his second album, Too High to Riot, on March 4, 2016. His labelmates J. Cole, Cozz, and The Hics make cameo appearances on the album.
The album sold 10,965 copies in its first week and debuted at position 49 on the Billboard 200 list. Each song on the album has a music video that the artist later released.
In June 2016, Bas embarked on an album-themed tour with Cozz and EarthGang. 26 North American cities and 10 European cities were represented. The documentary showcasing the tour was made available on Tidal on January 29, 2017.
Bas released the one-off song Pinball II with Correy C on April 10, 2018.
He released Tribe, his second single, on August 22. It features J. Cole. Following the success of his second album, on August 24, 2018, he released his third album, Milky Way. With 13,150 album-equivalent unit sales in the first week, the album debuted at position 35 on the Billboard 200.
Bas scheduled a 43-city tour to promote the record that started in November 2018 and ended in February 2019. He announced toward the end of 2018 that he was collaborating with The Hics on an album. The album is scheduled to be released in late 2021 or early 2022.
