YS Jagan interacted with India Today in their Educational Summit that was held in Tirupati and he debriefed the prevailing political situation in Andhra Pradesh. In the summit, he was asked about the reason why he changed 58 MLAs and 10 MPs. Jagan was asked if he fears anti-incumbency and if that is why he changing MLAs.

Jagan replied that it is common for any party to change its MLAs. “Every party has its own survey reports. In the same way, YCP too has its reports. There are a lot of cases where local MLAs don’t have a good image among the public. The image of the YCP government, as a whole is good but the reputation of these MLAs is bad. We are ringing in the changes in such constituencies.”

Jagan said he made these changes based on caste equations and public perception. He said he has no regrets about his 5-years tenure and interestingly commented that he will readily step down as well, based on the public’s verdict in the election.
