singer took to Instagram Live again, and when she was asked if she was high, she confirmed that she was not high but rather "bi." After clarifying her sexuality, Doja Cat began slowly swimming backward as she bid farewell to her viewers.

Around the same time Doja Cat said she liked "both" in 2021, English singer and rapper Bree Runway shared pictures and videos of the pair affectionately embracing and dancing the night away.
"you know I'm crazy about my WOMANNNN! Love youuuuu @dojacat best night everrrr 💍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️," Bree Runway captioned the post, which was the catalyst for the romance rumors they faced.
"SO WHO WAS GOING TO TELL ME DOJA CAT WAS DATING BREE RUNWAY," one person tweeted, and another shared, "still thinking about doja cat being bisexual and dating bree runway."
Another fan typed, "ARE BREE RUNWAY AND DOJA CAT DATING?" and a fourth wrote, "wait are doja cat and bree runway actually dating or are they joking??? im trying so hard not to geek out seeing my girls together."
In 2019, Doja Cat reached out to up-and-coming artist JAWNY, and after telling him that she was not a fan of his song "Honeypie," the former couple sparked a relationship. However, although the romance was short-lived, it was enough to take a toll on JAWNY.
Between his and the rapper's breakup, and his career taking off, the "Honeypie" singer experienced a whirlwind of emotions and said:
"Obviously, when you get sucked into that, your whole creative process just changes because you kind of lose sight of yourself."
Following her relationship with JAWNY, during an interview, Doja Cat revealed that she did not see herself having a public relationship again. The rapper added that while she would like to be free with her romances, there were "cons" that came with everything.

Despite identifying as bisexual rather than gay, Doja Cat found herself in hot water after old tweets of her using language social media users deemed homophobic reemerged. Once the scandal broke, she released two apology statements, only fueling the fire.
Internet users accused the singer of defending her derogatory language, including "Will & Grace" actress Debra Messing, and Doja Cat later released a third and final statement.
"I've used horrible derogatory and hateful words towards people out of ignorance. [...] I'm sorry for anyone I've offended or hurt deeply," one of her many apologies read in part. However, all have since been deleted from her Twitter account.
