I wanted to save this for a review post I'm trying to find time to make, but I feel I need to rant. My RAH Shirou had multiple stuck joints - extremely frustrating. Each knee was stuck in one of the joints (RAH knees are double-jointed) so they weren't able to bend properly until I worked them free (careful wiggling got both of them free).Worse than that, much worse, each of the upper arm swivels (where the upper arm goes onto a peg in the shoulder joint) were stuck solid. This limited poseability to the extreme because if the arm can rotate at the shoulder the elbows are basically limited to bending in one direction. It took me two days (about an hour per day) and multiple methods (first heating with a hair dryer, which did almost nothing and second using close-to-boiling water poured in a cup and holding it in) and EXTREMELY careful wiggling and finally pushing the upper arm further into the peg to finally crack (serious, I heard a crack) whatever plastic inside the arm had frozen it to the peg.
Also frustrating is to fix all four of these frozen joints, I had to take all of the clothes off the figure. Unlike RAH Rin, who has two outfits and therefore all the outfits are designed to go on and off, Shirou's clothes are not designed to come off easily (very little velctro). I had to take his head off to get his undershirt off, for example. Fortunately, poseability of the arms is quite good that it is easy to carefully get them in the right position to pull his arms out.
By a miracle, I was able to safely loosen up all the joints and now they all work, which will be good for pictures for the review. And I discovered a lot about his design that I will save for my review.
But my thumbs and index finger tips are still sore from the pushing, pulling, burning (on hot water), etc.
It makes me wonder if very many other people had similar problems with theirs.
End rant. why not just contact medicom directly? I know someone who had a problem with a broken joint for their RAH and they fixed it. He payed for shipping though.
